It has a mere 21,462 gently used miles on the odometer! Saleen Mustangs have been prized by enthusiasts for years not just for the attractive body and interior designs but also the performance and handling upgrades that put them in a class all their own.

This particular example is dressed in stunning paint with accents in black and chrome. Typical of a Saleen, this car is loaded up with body modifications that make it look noticeably different than a run-of-the-mill Mustang. It has a custom front and rear fascia, molded side skirts and door cladding, integrated front turn signals, rear center-body
panels, a hood with dual heat extractors, a rear spoiler and endcaps, a rear wing, and a fiberglass tonneau cover that fits over the rear seat when the top is down. Stylish accents abound with a “SALEEN” windshield graphic, an “838” decal on the front fascia (representing its production sequence number), “281” and “Supercharged” fender badges, “Saleen” door graphics, clear glass headlamp covers, and taillight delete covers in the rear that reduce the traditional 3 lights per side to just 2 per side.

The black Saleen grille that was originally on the car has been removed (but retained) and replaced by a chrome grille with thin horizontal bars that still wears a “Saleen” badge. The same grille material was also used to fill in the open spaces on the lower portion of the front fascia – creating a cohesive and unique look that really makes this car stand out. Looking at some of the more standard Mustang features you'll see black dual side mirrors, body-color door handles, faux air intake scoops right behind the doors, and a flawless black convertible top (power operated, of course). Under the soft-top you'll find a black halo bar with bright trim that looks great when the top is down. This whole gorgeous package sits atop 20” chrome 7-spoke Saleen wheels all wrapped in Pirelli P-zero tires.

There is further evidence that this is no ordinary Mustang when you lift the hood. Underneath, in the very clean and organized engine bay, resides a 4.6-liter 3V V-8 topped with a Saleen Series 6 integrated screw-type supercharger. This powerplant is sure to make your heart beat faster with 435 hp and 425 ft. lb. of torque – more than enough power to provide an exhilarating driving experience. The V-8 is mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission that sends power to a rear axle with 3.55:1 gears. Other notable upgrades include Saleen Powerflash Calibration, 2 ½” performance center exhaust, and a dual-stage water to air intercooler system. Stopping power comes courtesy of Saleen's 14” power 4-wheel disc brake system with slotted rotors up front.

Out on the road, this Pony handles like a champ thanks to Saleen's Racecraft suspension that includes front and rear springs, front struts, rear shocks, and a heavy-duty front sway bar. Open the drivers door to reveal a very stylish and meticulously maintained black interior. The door panels offer controls for power windows, locks, and both side mirrors. A “SALEEN” sill plate welcomes you inside for a seat in one of the comfortable Dark Charcoal leather sports seats with louvered headrests and Saleen logos. The driver’s seat is power-adjustable while the passengers is manually operated. The rear seating for two looks just as nice as the front seats, though not particularly spacious. Between the front buckets is a center console that features an armrest/storage box, two cup-holders, an e-brake handle, and the shifter for the automatic transmission.

The crack free black dash has an added pod at the top center that houses gauges for boost and air temperature. The dash has a ribbed silver panel that runs from side to side and both the gauge bezels and air vents located on it are framed with bright trim. There is an 8K tachometer, a 200mph speedometer, and gauges for fuel, volts, temp, and oil. In the center of the dash is a Shaker 500 AM/FM/6-disc in-dash changer that sounds absolutely fantastic. Beneath the sound system are easy to use HVAC controls that offer ice cold A/C and hot heat with a strong fan on demand. The driver is treated to a leather-wrapped steering wheel with finger-touch cruise controls and a Saleen logo center cap.

The wheel is on a tilt column that also offers an extra stalk for the intermittent wiper controls. Ahead of the passenger is a serialized dash plaque (#838) and a glovebox that contains the original Ford manual portfolio and a supplemental Saleen owners handbook. Both front passengers are protected by an airbag system. Underfoot is flawless black factory carpet topped with black carpeted “281” logo floormats. Overhead at the top of the windshield are dual map-lights and a switch to operate the power top. Around back in the carpeted trunk you'll find a courtesy light, a service spare with jack, the original black Saleen grille, some new graphic decals (in case they're ever needed), and the original window sticker.
